Answers:
WISCONSIN! We have the best tasting cheese too, regardless of whether California produces more!. You haven't had cheese until you've had Wisconsin cheese!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In answering this question, I have to consider the soil conditions of each region, because the cows eat the grass and thereby, giving each state a select taste!. I love Wisconsin Cheese, California is OK but their pollution level concerns me and Vermont rocks! I guess I would pick Wisconsin first, because of it's environmental surroundings as apposed to California, and Vermont is Second!. There are many factors in making great dairy products, but it always just comes down to different taste variances, that's what's great about food! I do believe that California will be a front runner in this dairy field yet, because they do have excellent soil for so many other fresh products, don't discount them, they don't give up easily and we are all lucky recipients to their farmers hard work!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'll get a big debate about that!. I have eaten dairy products and cheeses straight from the dairies and cheese factories in both states!. I have found that I prefer the taste of most of the California cheeses over the Wisconsin cheeses!. But you can also include Oregon in this debate as well as Tillamook produces nice cheeses also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

California didn't start producing milk and cheese last week:) They've been doing it for many, many years; and not because California felt like it needed to "copy" Wisconsin:) !.!.!. It's also not going to fall into the ocean anytime soon !.!.!.!.!. BUT (even though I lived in California 40 years), I think Wisconsin makes better cheese:) California's wines can't be beat though:)Www@FoodAQ@Com
