They're trying to sell you less for the same price!.

I have some super jumbo eggs I bought from a local egg farm!. They are tasty, and never too small!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not sure of the in's & out's of it, but I Think that it has something to do with the increased production rate of the eggs!? Maybe the chooks are forced to lay earlier/more often than is natural!. This would account for eggs being smaller than they used to be!. Eggs come in their own package, the shell!. It is not possible for any egg company to put egs into smaller shells/packages,then market them as being larger!. You can't lame the chook though!. They are being forced to produce the eggs when they do!. Just compare the eggs you usually have with Free Range eggs from a farm!. I bet the Farm eggs are Larger & have more taste & colour to them!!.!.!.But, I'm only guessing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with you, in our local supermarket, what they class as large eggs are medium or small, it is a way to make more money for them!.I am now opening the box before i buy and if there are small ones in it i look in the other boxes and swap the small ones for large ones!. it is the only way to get your moneys worth !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

for goodness sake, can't they leave anything alone!?! i'm just glad i check inside the carton as well as the outside! i'm such a skinflint, i always check for breakages, but i'll be double checking the size as well from now on! di!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
