Fruits like grapes, apples and oranges are good and don't need refrigeration!. You could also take along some crackers and peanut butter; popcorn; in a small cooler with frozen bottles of water, you could bring some yogurt and cheese cubes - hard cheeses like Swiss, Cheddar, Colby and Pepper Jack travel well, sandwiches made from peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese or salami and cheese - that way not only to do have something fresh to eat but you have something cold to drink as well!. You could also bring some of those lunch kits by Star Kist if you like tuna - they are self-contained, do not need refrigeration or a can opener and are single servings; I use to take them with me to school when I was in college; granola bars; candy bars; hard candy; baby carrots, celery sticks, slices of red, green and yellow peppers, radishes, cherry or grape tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower florettes and some Ranch, French or 1000 Island dressing or dressing of your choice for dipping - you can get small, sealed containers that don't need refrigerating near the deli section of your grocery store; containers of applesauce, fruit cocktail, fruit, pudding or jello!.
You can also make your own Trail Mix to take along using a combination of any or all of the following:
Dried cranberries - craisins
Dried cherries
Raisins - plain and/or chocolate covered
Dates
Fancy Mixed Nuts - salted or unsalted, your choice
Dried Mango
Dried Papaya
Coconut flakes
M&Ms
Banana chips
Apple chips
Dried Peaches
Dried Blueberries
Dried Pineapple
Granola
Keep in a sealed container or ZipLock bags to keep fresh!.
Don't bring things like bananas - they bruise easily, turkey or poultry products, ready made tuna - they spoil easily, anything containing mayo - spoils easily!.

Tuna fish is another option - if you get the cans with a pull tab, so you don't need to pack a can opener!. Bring a couple cans, some crackers - it's a decent snack!.
You are right that yogurt would go bad!. You can pack 1 for the first meal, which wouldn't be too long out of the fridge!. rackers, pretzels, granola, they are all healthy and won't go bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't like hamburgers at fast foods places either, but they all have salads and wraps now!.!.!.!. so you can always buy a salad (the McDonald's salads and wraps aren't that bad, either) !.!.!.!.!.!. You can stick containers of yogurt into the freezer the day ahead; then wrap in foil and bring a couple with you!. I used to do that, and put them in my daughters' lunches to keep the sandwiches cold; and they had yogurt for dessert!. It might separate a bit, but just stir it up:) Grapes won't go bad, but they taste terrible when they're warm!. But put some into a lunch bag next to the frozen yogurt to keep them cool!.!.!.!. Take some baggies of dry-roasted nuts with tropical dried fruit bits and Craisins!.!.!.!.!. I like yogurt everyday too; and most restaurants or motels with continental breaksfasts have yogurt for an option for breakfast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
