Why do ketchup and mustard get watery on top after sitting for a while?!


Question: Why do ketchup and mustard get watery on top after sitting for a while!?
Answers:
It's just natural separation, the added water from the tomato or mustard solids!.!.!.!.!.!.!.that's why it's best to give it a shake (and I even squirt some out into the sink before I use it, so as not to get that "watery" stuff on my (whatever I'm eating)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

They are suspensions: meaning, they are solid particles mixed in with liquid!. When they sit, the solid particles settle because they are more dense than the liquid, forcing the liquid portion of the suspension to the top!.

Shake well before using and you will redistribute the solid throughought the liquid and the liquid won't be on top anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
