Baked beans start life as haricot beans, and yes you can get them without the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The beans that Heinz use in their baked beans are Haricot Beans which of course you can buy in their raw form!. Baked beans is a lovely meal to make from scratch and much tastier than the Heinz variety!. Just google 'baked beans recipe'!. The only problem with beans is that they have to be soaked overnight and then cooked for hours before they are edible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baked beans are made with navy (great northern white) beans!. You can get them with different flavorings, but they are all made with a tomato based sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The BBQ ones and they come with red pepper in them, and Curry ones which come with sultanas I think!.
