They are encrusted with sugar, the have fancy packaging that attracts kids and are not healthy!. It is teaching kids from a young age to enjoy sugar-rich food!.
I give my kids porridge every morning with fruit - I never even take them down the aisle in ther supermarket with all that stuff!. They have fun with mum or dad stirring the porridge over the stove - this is teaching kids to cook ! and showing kids a happy home environment!. First of all, you only named all the sweet cereal,and if thats what you start your children out with then thats going to help them develop bad eating habits!. Pretty soon they're not going to want vegetables or even dinner!. They'll just sweetened cereal,candy,cakes and everything else that contains sugar!. Now i'm not saying that it's not okay to let them eat Lucky Charms or the other super sweetened cereal,what i'm saying give them a minimun balance therfore they'll develop good eating habits on their own!. ps!. theres a girl at my job whos baby is overweight @ you want to know what CPS told her!? All of the cereals you mentioned have high sugar and carb levels!. This will mess up the blood sugar of anyone! When your blood sugar is messed up, unfortunately it makes you crave more carbs and sugar!.!.!.

I don't think they have to have a negative influence if you don't serve them everyday and if you use them as a special snack instead of a meal!. Studies have shown that it's ok for younger children to have a little extra sugar (energy!) since they are so active and that trying to make their diet too "healthy", in an adult manner, can be detrimental to their growth!.
You just need to be sure to keep their teeth brushed and not promote sweets as a meal!. Sweets are a part of life and most of us like them!. They can be a part of a healthy diet!. We just have to teach our kids what their place is in a healthy diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes and no!. If children are only getting sugar cereal for every breakfast and don't get anything else I think it is a bad thing!. But more important than the cereal is the parents and their influence on the children's eating habits!. Are they getting well balanced other meals!? Are the parents eating well balanced meals!? Children learn from example, if you eat healthy meals they will learn from you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
instead of teaching them to eat a balanced meal, it teaches them to enjoy sugary foods instead!. it is almost like eating candy to them!. if they are used to geting these sweet cereals, place a plate of eggs and wheat toast in front of them and they shrug their nose!. they will say i want cereal!. start them out on eggs, fruit, and a healthier choice!.!.!. it will become a habbit to them, they will know no different!.

i used to take a toast with some butter and a glass of milk (and an omlate on alternate day for some change) & I think that's most healthest than these serials!. Just 'cause kids won't eat until they find it tasty dosen't mean they should be allowed to dominate the breakfast table!.

Personally, I find that sugary sweet cereals are like candy to children!. When I buy Lucky Charms, my daughter tries to snack on it all day!. So not only does she get the extra sugar, she ruins her appetite, and will not eat the healthy meals that I prepare for her!. Needless to say, breakfast cereal is a rare commodity in our home!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They all contain an immense amount of sugar!. I wouldn't buy them all the time!. I'd let them try it but would buy better grains of cereal like rice krispies or cinnamon toast crunch!. It's better to not get them into any of the bad cereals!. Well, on my opinion, i think it is ALL sugar and that children will want more candy from the store and will constantly want sugar!.

First of all, cereals were invented as a remedy to those people who are too lazy to cook!.

i think cereal is a good jump for kids in the mroning!.it depends on what they eat throughout the day!.personally when i feed my kids i make sure they have a healthy breakfast and a good lunch to bring with them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
it gives them a jump start but it's from sugar!. all sugar!. they seems to get sluggish throughout the day until lunch, which is more crap usually they eat!. we need more fruits and grains in our kids' tummies!Www@FoodAQ@Com
