Yes, My Uncle is a Chef & he say's-- the salt is only to get the water to boil faster, & the Oil is to keep the pasta from sticking together, then he put's the pasta in a drainer like bowl
and runs cold water on it - to stop the cooking action!.
When served, his sauce is really Hot from cooking, so it heats
up the pasta to just the right temp, and Boy is it good!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, salt the water , don,t over load the pasta ,stir several times during cooking to prevent sticking for get the oil ,waste of oil and money,many cooks are divided as to rinsing after cooking !.I do,it removes some starchiness and it's easier to handle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I salt and put oil in the water , salt for the seasoning and the oil keeps the water from boiling over onto the stove ,Ive been told that if you put oil in the water that the sauce wont stick to the pasta but Ive never had any problems !. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You salt the water after it is to a boiling point!. Because if you put the salt in the water before it starts to boil then it will take longer to boil the water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salt the water, no!. Add oil, no!. But I do use cooking spray on the pan bottom and sides!. Keeps the pasta from sticking to the pan and to itself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
