First, put some strips of waxed paper or foil, under the cake (so you don't drip frosting on the plate)!. Then, dust off crumbs and put a thin coat of icing all over the cake (to seal the crumbs in)!. Let it set about 10 min!. I like to do the sides first; and then pile the remainder of the icing on top (but you can do either way first)!. With a frosting spatula (or smooth butter knife), you can smooth the sides and the top edge!.!.!.!. You can swirl through the top, if you want, or just smooth it over (you can even wet your fingers and gently smooth down the sides and top if you want it perfectly smooth) !.!.!. When you're all done, pull the strips out from under the cake!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
