Why do you have to thaw out the whole container of ice cream just to take out a little bit?!
When you take the ice cream out of the freezer, it is so hard that you have to wait until it thaws out just to get what you need!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have the same problem!.!.!. It really helps if you put warm water on the scooper before and it softens the ice cream while you serve it : )Www@FoodAQ@Com
I had the same problem and then I went to a store that had upscale kitchen stuff and got an ice cream scoop that is razor sharp on the edge of the scoop and it cuts that ice cream like butter!. You could start by looking in Bed ,Bath and Beyond!. It has a soft cushy handle on it!. also always cut the top of the carton away from the unused ice cream and you can scoop easier!. Check that your freezer isn't set higher than it needs to be!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Your freezer temperature may be set a little to low!.If not Stand a good quality ice cream scoop in a mug of hot water for a few minutes before scooping your ice cream!.You can buy `soft scoop`ice cream!.You could buy smaller tubs of ice cream just big enough for one or two and find a friend to share the tub for two!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Buy BREYER's ice cream instead!.!.!.!. it's only natural ingredients (cream, sugar & fruit/flavoring)!. Read the labels of the other ice creams and you'll see all the artificial stuff that's in there!. Breyer's doesn't get "hard as a rock", and also won't get that gummy layer on top in the freezer !.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Ohh, you're exactly like me! I am constantly taking it
out of the freezer so it will melt a little!.!. I love making
home-made milkshakes, see!.
Thanks for this! Now I have a huge craving for Breyer's
Chocolate Ice Cream and I'm going to the store!.!.oh no! ;-)

To save time, I usually eat two servings!. That way I only have to take it out of the freezer every other day!.!.!.!.!.lol
I have actually tried running the ice scream scoop under a gas flame on my stove to see if it would scoop easier!. Needless to say, it was a bad plan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just run the scoop under hot water and then scoop out what you want!. Keep putting the scoop in the hot water for everytime you scoop the ice cream!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think that's why I spend the 4-5 bucks to get the Ben & Jerry's and Haagen Daaz in the pint containers!. You don't need a separate bowl- just grab the pint and a spoon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Freezer needs adjusting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Dip your scoop or spoon in very hot water, that'll do the trick and you won't have to defrost it all anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Buy 'soft scoop' ice-cream it serves straight from the freezer!.
Maybe freezer set too cold!? !!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
