What are your opinions on bottle deposits?!
Personally I am sick of dealing with dirty nasty bottles and machines that are always broken!. And when you try taking them back to convenience stores, the foreign owners always give you a hard time!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are alot of ways to look at it!. Alot of people will return the bottles, cans, etc!. to recover the deposit they paid!. With a value on the bottles and cans being returned to receive the money from the deposit, there are alot less being found on the streets and roadways!. People will still throw them everywhere, but then you have the people that need money going around collecting them where they can find them to buy whatever, keeping areas alot cleaner than it was when there was no deposit paid!.
When it comes to the foreign owners, in the many convenience stores,don't let them get to you!. Look at it this way, they collect a deposit on the bottles or cans you buy, if they don't have to pay back that amount, it's money in their pockets!.
You pay the price of the deposit, unless you have money to give away, save whatever, bottle or can and get your money back!. Put them in a sack until you have a good amount to take to the outlet to get your money back!.

My family used to do bottle deposit when every penny counted towards financial survival!. But nowadays we just put the bottles into regular recycling bins (I live in ny)!. From there however they often get sorted out by elderly women and men, mostly chinese although I have seen some Russian elderly men get it on this!. They in turn take the bottles to the bottle deposits at groceries!. Some do it for the extra money, the litteraly spend a day on this and have rigged shopping carts and other tools to help along!. But I have also heard that some are simply doing this as a hobby, they are well off or their kids are well off but they go through garbage cans and bring bottles to the bottle deposit machines for the sake of something to do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I like it!. It keeps bottle and cans off the ground!. I'm happy to get the !.10 back!. I dont' care to take them back!. I have my kids do it and they keep a cut of the money returned!. Our grocery stores keep up the machines!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
