Answers:
Kosher salt is flaked salt rather than granulated salt!. It is much lighter by volume!. As an example, a cup of Kosher salt weighs about half of what a cup of granulated (table or sea) salt!.

This is why it tends to be healthier!. The flaked shape gives more surface coverage and as a result requires less!. It's the salt of choice for cooking in my house!. When I serve salt at the table (rarely), I use sea salt!. You can't put Kosher salt into a salt shaker because the flakes are too wide!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Kosher salt has much larger granules than table salt!. It is also different in that it has no cooking additives!. It is called 'Kosher' because it is used to make meat 'Kosher'---it extracts the blood from the meat!. It is used in many other applications, however, such as making pickles!. On the other hand, it is not often used for baking because the large granules may not dissolve completely!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not sure if it's the same as sea salt (I suspect it's not), but sea salt is what I use, because it's healthier and because of the taste!. Plus I can get it in a grinder, which makes me much less likely to use too much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

One other thing about Kosher Salt is the Shape of the crystals make it a good salt for meat curing & dry rubs!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

kosher food is food thats blessed by a rabi!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
