Answers:
Both!. The way to tell what you have is this:
Real baby carrots will say "Baby Carrots" on the package
Normal carrots that were cut will say "Baby Cut" CarrotsWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you're talking about the ones that come in a bag, those are formed from normal sized carrots!. The real ones you can buy are small with the skin still on, and sometimes the tops!. True baby carrots have a lighter flavor, and a more delicate texture, if you can find them, give them a try, they're great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baby carrots come from large carrots that usually have some kind of minor defect that made them not sellable intact!.

There are some "baby" varities, but the ones you see in the store are usually carved from bigger ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am pretty sure that they are carrots that haven't been fully grown!. You might want to try googling "how are baby carrots made!?" and you might find something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

usually it is just normal sized carrots that have been cut into that rounded shapeWww@FoodAQ@Com
