How do you plan dinners for the week?!


Question: How do you plan dinners for the week!?
I always struggle with what is for dinner-and grocery shopping!. Does anyone have any tips on making mealtime easier!? Do you plan out your week's meals!? Do you shop for the whole week at one time!? When you plan the meal, do you plan just the main course then figure out the sides later!? My recipes are a mess too (probably related)!. Any good ways on organizing those- just just keeping them in a regular recipe box!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Every Saturday I sit down at my computer open my Excel "Menu" file and try to figure out what I'm going to do for dinner for the coming week!. I also have around 2 months of back menus saved on the same page!. Then I write my shopping list accordingly!.

For recipes, any tried and true recipes I keep in a hardback notebook that lives in a drawer in my kitchen!.

I always write down the menu first on one side of the paper!. On the other side of the paper I write down what all i need to go with it!. NOW, when there are 2 of the same things I need for dinner I just write ll or lll, etc!.

This way (for example; hamburger I'll need lll *3* pounds of it) etc, etc, etc!.

I save all my Tried and True recipes in a recipe box!. They are all categorized into desserts, sides, beverages, poultry, soups, etc!. They are divided by tabs!. Very inexpensive to buy!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I only go grocery shopping once a month except for things like milk so I plan my meals a month in advance, make a list of what I need and shop accordingly!. I use coupons, too when I shop!.

I keep my recipes organized on my computer even though I have a large collection of cookbooks!. Transfer your recipes to your computer and with the main courses make a list of possible sides that you can serve with it!.

Well stuff like Chilli or some kind of thick stews or even Schnitzels I make on the weekend when I have time and freeze it in portion sized tupperware so easy to reheat and serve!.

Only thing left to do during the week days are the side dishes such as salads and rice or potato I just make the day of!. So no need to make your first course every single day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I plan out my dinner for the whole week and go grocery shopping for the wole week at once!. I write down what I plan on making and then i write down all the ingredents I need!. I was planning dinner for 3 adults that way!.
For your recipes you could always make a cookbook like you would a scrapebook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
