How long do you keep an open bottle of salad dressing?!

Question: How long do you keep an open bottle of salad dressing!?
I seriously can't keep track of how long my salad dressing stays in the fridge since we don't have salad all the time!. I found a bottle that I know I bought for a New Year's Eve dinner and my husband thought it would be fine to use!.!.!. over five months later!! He ate it and he seems OK, but how long do they usually last before it's time to toss!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's ok to use if the oils are not rancid (for oil based), for cream based ones, check the use-by date!. You can go 6 months with open dressing as long as it was kept sealed and in the fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've had a bottle of dressing for a year and it was still good!. Most all dressing have vinager in them!. Vinager is a pickleing agent that keeps it fresher longer!. Use your own judgement!. If it has been kept cold, had no heavy residue on the lid, smells and tastes good!.; I'd say your good to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends!.!.!.!.!.!.!.do you plan on eating it!? Do you like being sick!? Are you going to share it with a friend or an enemy!?
Actually it depends on the room temperature or if you're keeping it in the direct sunlight!. I wouldn't leave it out more than about 45 minutes!.

Until the expiration date passes!. Generally, dressings are loaded with preservatives and will last for a good while after the exp date!. It's mainly the flavor that diminishes over a long period of time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

go by the expiration date!. that's what i do!. but I've forgotten about it and eaten dressings way past and i never got sick!. just make sure it's been in the fridge the entire time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually go by the date that is posted on the bottle!. all foods have an expiration date!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you eat more salads tehn you will never have this problem again!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
