How do you get rid of the enzyme bromelain in the pinapple?!


Question: How do you get rid of the enzyme bromelain in the pinapple!?
I love fresh pineapples but hate it when you eat too many and it cuts your tongue because of the bromelain in it!. My friends say to soak it in salt to get rid of it but that makes them taste bad!. Anyone know a better way!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only way that I know of is heat!. I believe heat deactivates/destroys the bromelain, especially about 119 F!.

also, cold temperatures (below 40F) reduces the effectiveness of bromelain, but does not destroy the enzyme!.

So eat the pineapple cold, below 40F, or heat the pineapple to 120F and cool before eating!.

Cooking will kill the enzymes in any food!. Canned pineapples have been "cooked!."

Fresh pineapple is a natural anti-inflammatory, so if you have buises, strains & sprains, eat it raw!Www@FoodAQ@Com

cut out a hole near the top of the ponapple and fill it with rum!. let it soak over night then eat it!. tastes much better than saltWww@FoodAQ@Com
