Answers:
I call it cheesecake because nobody would know what I meant if I called it cheesepie, they would think "huh!? Quiche!?!?!?"

However, the graham cracker crust does say "pie"!. Generally, cheesecake is taller than pie!.

I'm not so strict with my dessert titles, as long as they are yummy, but I can see where you are coming from!.

Flourless chocolate cake is the same sort of thing!. Slicable pudding, maybe, or triangle brownie, but not cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, that depends on how its made & what's in it!.

Some cheesecakes have more flour & cake-like ingredients than others do!. These are sometimes called New York cheesecakes!.

I prefer a made from scratch, more fluffy, heading toward chiffon consistency in my cheesecake & it can be made in a pie pan, a rectangular pan used for sheet cakes or a springform pan - which is the type of pan normally used for the more cakey type of cheesecake!.

Personally, I don't care what its called, I'm more into how it tastes & melts in my mouth!. I'm particularly fond of the orange-pineapple-coconut flavored one I make!. Hmm!. !. !. So Good!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope!.!.!. I call it cheesecake, because it looks like a big cake!. It's made in a springform pan, with 3-5 large packages of cream cheese, and tall sides!. You must be eating a cheesecake pie - maybe from the Jello mix or the non-bake type!. It doesn't taste anything like the real thing!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because it's thick like cake, baby!.!.it's dense! oh, and it's the best dessert of all time, running neck & neck with German Choclate cake!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

idk but its really good!. its called that becase it is made with cream cheese!. yea i know, there really is no cake in it at all its more shaped like a pie!.!.!.!. good observationWww@FoodAQ@Com

Why do they call a Boston cream pie a pie!? It's really a cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
