Ramen soup?!
I remember having a long argument with one of my friends about the meaning of the word Ramen!. Now, we all know what you get when you order Ramen, but what actually is Ramen specifically!. In Wikipedia it says, 'Ramen can be broadly categorized by its two main ingredients: noodles and soup!.' However, it also says 'Ramen comes in various shapes and lengths!. They may be fat, thin, or even ribbon-like, as well as straight or wrinkled!.' in reference to the actual noodles!. In there lies the argument we had that was never resolved!.

I have bought ramen noodles in a packet at an asian grocer, and ordered ramen at a japanese restaurant, I think like the Tagine from Morrocco, its both the dish and the contents, like ramen is the noodle or the soup, I think!. Maybe a Japanese person will clear it up for both of us!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Okay I have a package right in front of me!. You're speaking to a "Ramen Connoisseur" I eat it almost everyday haha! It says "Ramen NOODLE Soup", so Ramen must refer to the noodle!. also on the bottom of the package, it states that you "can use Ramen Noodles for a main dish if you drain off the soup broth and add vegetables"!. So there you go!. Ramen is noodle!.
