Answers:
Everything you buy is loaded with salt (someone told manufacturers we love it)!. Just buy the one closest to real meat (bone-in-ham, ham shanks, slab bacon) and boil it for 10-15 min first!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've done a taste testing with my roommates in college!.

We found that some bacons are salty!.!.!. especially the cheap brands: Bar-S and some house brands!.

The flavorful bacons we liked was John Morrel Double Smoked Bacon, Double Thick - good flavor without being overly salty!.
Farmland was okay!.
Oscar Meyer was okay!.
Both of these were thin cuts!. We liked the thick cuts!.

We also thought supermarket's with delis!. The bacon at the delis were pretty good!.

For hams!.!.!. right now, Cook's Hams are our favorites!. Good flavor and not too salty!. Again, when a supermarket has ham on sale really cheap!.!.!. we're leery of it!.!.!. they tend to be a little saltier!. However, we still buy it since it's so inexpensive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
