Safe to eat the onion shoot part...?!

Question: Safe to eat the onion shoot part!.!.!.!?
I bought a mixed veggie thing, im pretty sure its for roasting!.!. Theres a giant carrot, 1/2 a rutabaga, some fresh parsley, and a slightly big onion with shoots, it almost looks like celery, but its all round and thin shoots, like bamboo or something!. The words on it are all in german!. So I just went ahead and got it for my roast tomorrow, is it safe to use the whole onion, including the shoots!? Or do they not taste good!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Normal onion shoots are called sold as "green onions" but with a smaller bulb!.

I'm really not sure what you are talking about though!? Leaks!? Celeriac!? Could you post a picture!?

Looks like a leek to me!? If it is a leak you can eat the green, but not dark green bits (well you can eat them they are just a bit tough)

You could type the label into babble fish and see if it will translate it for you!? Looks like german:
