Is it okay to drink tea fully by ripping tea bags apart, and can you make it in cold water?!

Question: Is it okay to drink tea fully by ripping tea bags apart, and can you make it in cold water!?
I always thought that to get the full effects of the tea, that it's best to drink it in its entirety, drink up the leaves etc, by ripping apart the tea bag and pouring the contents in your cup, etc!.

also do we have to place it in boiling water, why not cold!?

Can someone enlighten me now!? thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For black tea the water must be boiling otherwise there will be no flavour!. I assume the compounds in the tea which give it its flavour are only soluble in hot water!. Why drink tea cold anyway when it is perfect hot!? If you want to drink the leaves, use loose leaf as it is better quality!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

use whole leaves if you're going to do that, the little pieces stain and stuff!.

and it just steeps better in hot water than in cold, so if you want cold tea, you have to make iit in hot water then put ice in when you're finished steeping it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I used to do that, but the leaves got in my teeth, staining them!. Now I use whole tea leaves!.

The hot water gets the flavor out faster!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buy "Cold Brew" from Lipton and read the instructions!. Enjoy the tea!Www@FoodAQ@Com
