Corn on the cob--how can I tell if it's bad?!

Question: Corn on the cob--how can I tell if it's bad!?
Sorry, I know this is a ridiculous question--I usually eat it within the first few days but we've had a lot of take out and quick meals this week and my corn looks okay but how can I tell if it's bad--can we get sick from it-- it doesn't look bad and isn't slimy or anything!. Some of the outer husks looked a little bad but when i got to the inner portions they and the corn look fine!.

I've had it around a weekWww@FoodAQ@Com

The longer corn sits, the tougher and less sweet it becomes - that's because the natural sugars start turning to starch immediately after it's picked!. As the corn gets older, the husks start to dry out - sounds like yours - and the kernels start to shrivel a bit if it's REALLY old!. Usually the kernels will look fine but once cooked the corn will be chewy and not very sweet!. Best to eat corn in a day or two!. It won't be bad after a week (unless there's signs of mold or mildew on it) but it won't taste that great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the corn kernals sink in the middle and the corn looks dry if its badWww@FoodAQ@Com

Just taste it!. If you like it, then it's good!. That was so easy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
