Product From A Grocery Store Question?!

Question: Product From A Grocery Store Question!?
I bought some Non-Store Brand Pickles from Kroger
When I went to eat them the very next day I opened
Them and they smelt like poo-poo!. They looked alright
But gosh the smell almost knocked me out!. I took them
Back to the store, and they said there is no way this jar
Of pickles was this way when you opened them they were
Saying that I did something to them, therefore they will
Not refund or exchange the pickles!.
My question is what can I do about this, and how can
I get my money back Or a product exchange!.
also who would I report this too, this could turn out to be a big
health Problem for other people who might go ahead and
try to eat them!. Why they would is beyond me, but some people do!.

Any help will be appreciated
Thank You!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've always had good outcomes with Kroger here in Atlanta!. Did you take the reciept with you to show that you just bought them!. If talking to the manager didn't solve it, try calling the home office, (800-632-6900) if that doesn't work call the 800 no!. on the jar!.
Just curious, you didn't say what brand or type of pickles they are!?

Did you talk to the manager!? Kroger's has always gone out of their way to refund/replace any item I've had a problem with! !.!.!. In fact, last year, I bought a fresh (hot from the oven) apple pie, which fell onto the ground when I was putting my groceries in the trunk of my car!. I'M the one who did it, but a boxboy saw it happen, and told the manager who insisted they give me a new one!!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may have smelled sulfur dioxide, left from processing!.

It might be normal for that brand, or they might have added too much!.

See last paragraph of "Raw Materials" at

call the corporate office and complain, then call the pickles' manufacturer also!. if the store refuses to help you, the pickle's manufacturer might refund you insteadWww@FoodAQ@Com

Contact the Food and Drug Administration and copy Kroger's head office and the manufacturer's head office!. That will get some attention!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sorry that happened to you: What the store did was MOST unacceptable!!! Are they out of their minds!?!?!? You need to do this:

Get ALL (and I mean ALL) the information off the pickle jar and WRITE THE KROGER CORPORATE OFFICE!!! They WILL get back to you, they know that statistically speaking,

A SATISFIED CUSTOMER TELLS TWO PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE!.!.!.!.!.

A *****DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER TELLS 11******* Those are hard stats!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Type out a letter (make it professional looking, as you mean business here!!!) and send it to them!.!.!.!.!.along with your phone number and the particular store where this transgression took place!.!.!.!.!.Shame on Kroger!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Christopher

EDIT: If the district manager is that "nutty" to tick someone off like that, WRITE THAT LETTER TODAY!!!!
