spaghetti, garlic bread & tossed salad!. Always!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Of course, a crusty bread is great with Italian food, but it is interesting to note that Italians do not eat bread with pasta!. It is served with all other courses, but never pasta!. When we were in Italy visiting family, my younger siblings and cousins wanted bread with everything, just like we would eat at home!. But at the pasta course, when they asked for it, my zia Erminia looked horrified and said, "No pane e pasta!" The intense starchiness of each is overkill, and a beautiful Italian meal is one that is well balanced!. Save the bread for the zuppa, insalata, main course, cheeses, etc, and let the pasta have its time to shine as it should!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Always!? Well then freshly made Calabrese bread or rolls and on the table a hunk of Parmiagana-Reggiano cheese along with a grater to serve yourself and a green vegetable either cooked or raw!. We have Italian food 2 or 3 times a week!.

I would have added Chianti or some other robust red wine but then it is not always served every time but sparkling water or soda water is always served at my table!.

Only if a guest requests it do we have toasted garlic bread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope, but we do serve some kind of bread with all pasta dishes in this house and a salad of some kind too!. I do make garlic bread often but like to switch it up alot so its not the same thing constantly, I make bredadsticks, cheesy garlic straws, garlic poppers which are like 1 bite bread poppers that are great for rolling in the sauce of the pasta and great for dipping oils too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I definitely want toasted garlic bread with my Italian food!. How else could I sop up the extra sauce!? LOLWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yeah, it's a lot better with the bread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Of course!.!.!.
