Question: I've read that one medium size apple is one of your 5 a day fruit and veg!?
If I stuck to my 5 a day but only ate apples to contribute towards it that would be 35 apples a week!. And if my close family who live with me all four of us did it that would be 140 apples a week!. does anyone think that's too many apples or is it just me!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just thought I'd throw another spanner in the works for you!. I know someone who works as a food tester for one of the major supermarkets in Britain and he said never ever eat the skin on an apple!? What do they spray them with to get them to look so perfect!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stick to apples if you want, but when they say 5 a day fruit and veg, they mean different ones, at least 2!.

Fruit and veg of different colours benefit you in different ways, some help prevent cancer, some give you vitamins to avoid illnesses brought on by the lack or deficiency of them, etc!.!.

If you still want to go the only apples way, you'll need around 60 to70lbs (28 to 30kg) of apples in you weekly shopping :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

having more than one apple a day doesnt count!. You have to have five DIFFERENT fruits and veg
1 medium banana
3 dried apricots
2 satsumas
1 glass of juice
can also count towards your 5 a day :)

I certainly dont think it will be bad for you - its not as if its 5 chocolate bars! If its only apple you like, then keep up the good work! I find apples make me have a sore stomach as they are quite acidic - and they actually contain quite a lot of natural sugar - so perhaps mix with another fruit e!.g banana, or even some veg, e!.g!. cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could also try juicing/smoothies I have found this is the easiest way to get your fruits/veggies everyday!. You definitely don't want to consume only apples your body needs different nutrients which only come from eating a variety of fruits and veggies!. Hope this helps:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

The idea is variation!.!.!.so, instead of five apples a day, have an apple, an orange, a handful of carrots, a serving of salad, a handful of broccoli or cauliflower florettes!., etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It wouldn't be any good because you have to have a variety of fruit and veg as well as having five a day!. Different fruit and veg provide different nutrients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
