Is my peanut butter killing me? (health question)?!

Question: Is my peanut butter killing me!? (health question)!?
My one real dietary "sin" to this day is the occasional peanut butter and jelly sandwich!. Lately, I've been balancing between the more corporately-promoted peanut butter and the "real" peanut butter products, whose ingredient labels read "peanuts", and that's it!.
So, anyway, this ingredient label reads, "FRESHLY ROASTED PEANUTS, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL (CONTAINS SOYBEAN OIL), SALT!."
Both corn syrup solids and hydrogenated vegetable oils perplexed me, so I investigated them, and the keywords that kept popping up along with my research were, "trans fats"!. But, reading the nutrition facts, there are 0 trans fats in the peanut butter (1g saturated, 4!.5g total)!. Corn syrup solids being even related to HFCS scares the living **** out of me, but how much should I watch this product!? I'm a health nut, so I probably won't buy this again, but!.!.!. should I just throw it awaY/Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Unless you're allergic, it shouldn't bother you at all!. The fact is that the Health Gurus (tm) flip-flop on these things so much that I doubt they know what they're talking about!.

Use moderation, and use common sense!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If the ingredients bother you that much why keep it!?

Have you considered making your own peanut butter!? Lot healthier since you decide what to put into it - all you need is a blender, roasted peanuts and some peanut oil!.

Don't make too much at one time or it could go rancid, especially if you don't refrigerate it!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unless you are allergic to Peanuts, the peanut butter is healthy; even though also fattening!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
