Question: Is it just me or is the general quality of Vegetables and fruit in England absolute rubbish!?
Garlic that is dry and green when you buy it,I never knew potatoes had a (short) shelf life! 3-5 days = sprouts!. Been to all supermarkets with little difference!. Not my eperience from my home country!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

your right!. most stuff is flavourless and made for cheap commercial gain!. A lot is flown in so there is nothing fresh!. It is mainly pretty dire - even the stuff in season is importedWww@FoodAQ@Com

Supermarket fruit and veg are pretty dire, they have been held in storage for so long that any flavour they had has either disappeared or is virtually non existent!. You need to buy the fruit and vegs that are in season!. It's no good buying cauliflowers now and expecting them to taste fantastic! Try to source local markets and suppliers that use fresh produce, not mass marketed dross!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do this ( I assign you to solve the problem to get fresh picked fruits & vegatables to the grocers daily) maybe the farmer could hookup his cart and horse and circulate the city!?!?
You should know you can grow potatoes in straw in a cardboard box!.!.
you choose to live in the cities!.!.!.!. the farms ranches and the industry are miles away!.!.how many neighborhood grocer are there!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

A friend of mine has organic vegetables delivered weekly to her door!. They are of great quality, seasonal and very reasonably priced!. Depending on where you live, there might be a service out there that could deliver to you!.

I live in England but originally from Italy!.
Vegetables and fruit in England are different,they do not taste or smell nice!.
I guess supemarket are more interested in providing perfect looking fruit and vegetables instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, the fruit and veg is pretty bad, unless you buy British seasonal veg!. I lived there for 18 months and never ate a decent tomato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
