How do you find out how many calories there are?!
This is just a question that popped into my mind!.!.!. how exactly do the people who write nutirtion labels find out how many calories there are in a item of food!?

To understand this you have to understand what a "calorie" is!. A calorie is a unit of measure like a foot or an inch!. To be specific it is a unit of measuring heat, and the only field of science in which it is still used is in measuring food energy!.
One calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by 1 degree Centigrade!.
So they simply figure out using scientific equipment how much energy is produced in the human body by ingesting the food item in question, and that's how many calories it has!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
