How do humans consume fish oil? Is it in the same way as animals, in that yellow oval capsule?!

Question: How do humans consume fish oil!? Is it in the same way as animals, in that yellow oval capsule!?
I give fish oil to my dogs and used to give them to my bird when he was sick!. It's the yellow capsule type!. Can that be consumed by humans too!? If so, how!? By chewing or by drinking it with water!? And would it be okay to consume a fish oil capsule from a pack of "Fish oil for birds" or "Fish oil for dogs"!? (They're all in the same shape and colour anyway)

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com
