How can I just "suck up" my job?!
I'm a 21 year old girl and just got a job in a restaurant for the summer!. Sometimes at night there would only be me and 3 or 4 other people working together!. But when we're not busy, its boring and we're just standing around in the kitchen!. But the other people have been working together for years and are loud and laughing and joking about things together!. Sometimes they go outside to smoke, other times they're just chatting and laughing and drinking soda!. Other times when they like a song that comes on the radio, they turn it up loud and start singing and dancing!. I'm standing there bored, giving small smiles acting like im interested and trying to join in, when really, I'm thinking these guys are idiots and I just want to be somewhere else!. I hate boring days because this is what I'm forced to do, and I feel awkward and annoyed just being forced to stand and listen to them!. I'm trying to just "suck it up" for the summer, but what can I do to make it less 'painful'!.!.!.!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Be careful that you don't break your neck when you fall of your pedestal princess!. Obviously if you are waiting tables in a restaurant, that doesn't seem to get as much attention as the bigger restaurants, then you can't be all that!. Try getting to know the people that you work with, instead of judging them, and maybe things will go just a little easier for you!. Ever think they feel the same way about you!. You really sound like a spoiled brat that would have a problem working in any situation and with any kinds of people!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can always approach your boss and ask for more responsibilities so that when it is slow you can have additional things to keep you busy!. If nothing else it should show your boss that you are interested in taking on more responsibility & showing initiative! Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
