With Petrol prices rising daily and food prices soaring?!
What does one!.!?
Petrol keeps rising and
Some food prices have gone up by 30% or more!.
With bread,milk,flour,rice butter and other daily food items going up, how does one cope!.
I tend to buy less items that we always took for granted so that we can at least eat proper daily meals!.
Go out less frequently to eat,
Try and walk to local shops,
Buy less choc,
Buy cheaper items
and so on!.

Make my own bread and cakes
Cancelled the daily papers
Use a multi steamer and only one gas ring
Use the small top oven more
Use a travel kettle so I'm not tempted to boil more water than I need
We don't use his and hers deodorants anyone - one unperfumed now
Catch the bus into town and use my concessions
Shop at Aldi/Lidl were possible
Buy toilet/kitchen rolls from car boot sales
This year I've grown all my hanging basket plants and my home-made compost
Don't have take aways or eat out as often, once a month for a treat
My friend and I share the BOGOF offers

i guess you live in the UK!? in the good old USA, i will buy meat in bulk like at a wholesale club, and freeze portions!. i also get sale items, and store brands!. i clip coupons, and sometimes i will go to three different stores to get the best prices!. I hardly ever go out to eat anymore!. luckily the vegetables are coming into season and we have gotten somewhat of a break on fresh produce prices!. once the local farmers start bringing their produce to market, i will buy from them and freeze what i can!. next year i am planting a vegetable garden!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It is a big problem for me!. I have taken these steps:
I have turning my lawn over to a vegetable plot to grow my own veg!.
I have saved a couple of battery hens for fresh eggs
I buy only what I need!.
I will not go away for my summer holiday
I have turned the heating off
I don't eat out
I don't go to the pub
I walk where I can
My lunch is usually my leftover supper from the previous evening!.
I got rid of my petrol car and bought an old diesel, which I run on waste vegetable oil which a local restaurant gives me!.
Despite all of the above, I am finding it really hard to balance the books!.
Oh! and Ann J, it's a myth!.!. food prices are up because of the increased fuel prices at the pump because OPEC control the price of crude!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Same as you, treats went first, meals started to be planned to make sure they're cheap but healthy and making sure there's just enough and that any leftovers are frozen!.
I had to stop using the corner shop for milk when I get caught short cause I can afford to keep paying for the convenience!.
I also use mysupermarket!.com to see what deals and bargains are around and where is cheapest to buy certain products!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I dont think we have learned to cope yet!. I think we are all still living day to day hoping something will change, but there is no end in sight!. it is very scary and very sad!. I fear the day my children will not have enough to eat!. In the meantime, I work as much as possible and spend as little as possible and still do not have enough to save any at the end of the day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Our store has buy this, get that free so that tends to help also!.

I know what you mean, i was in ASDA the other day!. Went to the sweets isle and the chocolate was 62p, it used to be 51p!. Then they had the cheek to have the word rolled back from 78p next to it!. I was like it was never that price, they've increased the price then tried to cover it up by saying they've reduced it!. I never buy chocolate from then anymore!. I shop at the local bargain shop :)

I stock up on buy one get one free offers on stuff I use regularly and I also buy reduced to clear items at knock down prices and freeze them to use them later!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have started buying bulk items and only going to the store once a month!.
For gas prices, I ride my motorcycle and parked the jeep!.!.!.
