What are some pirate inspired foods?!
I teach 4th grade and we are having a pirate day next week to conclude our pirate unit!. What are some different pirate inspired foods or snacks that would be inexpensive and easy to serve!? They have to be things that I can buy and just open and serve!. I cannot "make" anything at home because of certain food prep guidelines from the school system!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oranges or citrus fruit!.!. to prevent scurvy, pitta bread is close to the hard tack served on ships, Beef jerkey, or salted beef!.!. it comes in little cans for making Creamed chiped beef!. Salt was a primary preservative, as was smoking!. for drinks your going to have to go with ginger ale, or Root beer!. nothing citrus! I don't know why but tropical foods and trail mix are sticking out for me!. maybe you could just give the food clever pirate names like Parrot Poop (taco dip)!. Or you could make a treasure map leading to the food which would be served out of a treasure chest!. Don't forget those chocolates that look like gold coins!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Will be seafood based items!. How about tuna sandwiches and stuff!. Fruits would be a good item!. Imagine you are a pirate on an island, so what would you have fruits and stuff or even coconuts!. Hope this gives some ideas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
