Deep fat fryer question?!
I bought a deep fryer the other day and stopped at the store for a bottle of peanut oil!.
I thought peanut oil is a good oil for frying, but after reading the instructions of the fryer it says--NOT to use peanut oil ---it's not recommended because of it's smoke point!.
Is this a mistake in the instructions or is peanut oil not the right thing to use!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow, that's news to me, too!. I thought we could use peanut oil because it would not smoke until the temp got really, really hot!. It's usually used in turkey fryers and I like it for frying chicken!. I've only used it for poultry!. Maybe it has something to do with what you are frying!. I wouldn't use peanut oil if I were making donuts, for example!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
peanut oil has a very high smoke point, meaning that the temperature can be well over 350 degrees and the oil will not smoke and burn!. I think that the instructions are strange, but if you feel uncomfortable not following them, canola oil will work well in a fryer too!. Just don't use olive oil are any delicate flavorful oils, they will burn very easily and are a waste of food and money!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Use Canola Oil!.
People make mistakes on these deep fryers every holiday!.
When you take what it is, your going to fry!. Stick it in the fryer
first!. than pour in cold water!. when it reaches the safe level
mark!. Take what your cooking back out, and pour the water
into a container to "measure it!."
Then pour the same amount of oil back into the fryer!.
THERE MANY, WHO GET SPLASHED AND BURNED,
BY DROPPING THEIR FOOD INTO THE FRYER!. AND IT
"OVERSPILL'S, ONTO THEIR BODY!.
Don't forget when oil is heated!. It does "expand!." <}:-})Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always use peanut oil in my deep fat fryer! However if the instructions recommended not using that they should have mentioned another substitute! But I have never had a problem with mine!Www@FoodAQ@Com
It has a lower flash-point than other oils, which means that it goes from hot to explode more quickly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
its better to use vegetable oil ,Www@FoodAQ@Com
if it gets too high in temp it will burnWww@FoodAQ@Com
