Were there always baby carrots?!

Question: Were there always baby carrots!?
I don't remember eating baby carrots when I was a kid!. I am 29 years old!. We always had to cut up the big carrots into sticks if we wanted bite-sized carrots!. Was this because there were no baby carrots when I was little, or were my parents cheap!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I think they showed up in mid 90's!.!.
as the canned foods people added them to stews
and frozen food industries also found the small size to their advantage!.
There was a period of time where pot lucks were the rave and the packaged, pealed and small size was perfect !.!.
Edit
PS
I am 68 yo!?!? grey matter !?!?
!?!? 18 = 1990 OKWww@FoodAQ@Com

I remember them but I am only 18!. I don't know for sure but I would say that people now days are just too lazy to cut them up so they want to buy them bite sized!. Baby carrots are the same as big carrots they are just havested younger!. Maybe people got tired of cutting them up so they just started harvesting them when they were smaller!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baby carrots are regular carrots that were harvested early or the remnants of larger, broken carrots!.!.!.and that's a fact! ;o)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't remember them then either:) !.!.!.!. I think people have more sophisticated palates now, and want "gourmet" items!. Lots of veggies come "baby" now (and cost more than full-size)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baby carrots are just the same as big carrots but they are harvested earlier!. No your parents were not cheap but they tended to leave them to grow into larger ones as it was what people preferred thenWww@FoodAQ@Com
