Question: Why is asparagus so expensive (well, relatively for a vegetable)!?
Its more expensive than meat, why!? Is it hard to grow or something!?

The asparagus plant has to be in the ground for three years before it yields, and then it has a two-three month season!.

And the growing season is labor-intensive, as it grows incredibly fast and the beds must be harvested daily!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is hard to grow correctly and requires attention!.!.!.!.!.also for cost per yeild it is high main tenance !.!.!. why do you buy it !.!.!.prolly cos you like the taste !.!. or are substituuting !.!.!.!.!.it apparently is an aphrodisiac but that remains to be seen

Asparagus are a pain to grow and harvest!.
Alot of work there!.
And no one works for free these days!.
