You don't have to buy it! I know i don't :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Junk sell's well, if you stuck out a crate full of cakes and a crate full of veg, same price, buy one get one free each, the cakes would by far out-sell the healthy food, and then the veg would rot, the supermarket would lose money and chuck away food!. People do have the choice, and they choose to buy junk, if we all started buying fruit and veg instead (they're not expensive as they are anyways) there would be more buy one get one free's, but the way it is now, the supermarkets dont see any point because nobody buys itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Stuff like that does not move very fast at full price!. So when they get a case or pallet load of in, they sell a portion of it at buy one/get one free in order to pay for the wholesale cost of the cases!. Then everything left on the shelf is "profit!." Most distributors give a big break on pallet prices so somthing that would normally cost $1!.50 wholesale is only $1!.00 when they buy a pallet load!. This is particularly true of light weight foods like chips and cheap foods!. If I sell something cheap, I want to sell A LOT of it to make it worth my while to put it on a truck!.

I use to manage a small store and we did pallet sales all the time in part to get people into the store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's because junk food is cheap to make so they can sell it at a cheaper price!. It's expensive to try to make a healthy snack, there's research that goes into it and everything that they pass on to the consumers!.

It sucks though, the media is constantly telling us how we're fat!.!.!.yet the majority of overweight people can't afford to buy healthy food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because it's more likely to buy junk food for buy one get one free, than buy one get one free for a pound of squash or package of celery!. My point!? America has shoved so many commercials and magazine ads that inform us eating so junk food is ok, down our throats, people can only be tempted to join the bandwagon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's because they cost half the price anyway!. all the healthy stuff is at the correct price, makeing it buy one get one free would put them out of pocket!

wish they had buy one plasma tv and get another free!
or buy 1 PS3 and get another free!Www@FoodAQ@Com

"Buy one get one free" is a way of conning the simple who think they're getting something for nothing!. What it means is "buy two (or if you insist we'll sell you one for the price of two)"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

and they always seem to make the price higher than it would be usually!. what annoys me is the smell of macDonalds!. they should keep all maccy D's in a box so the smell doesn't get out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was thinking the same! I think it's because a greater percentage of people WANT the junk food, ergo making BOGOF will increase customers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree!.!.!. why can't they give us BOGOF offers on fruit!.!.!. especially the more expensive stuff like blueberries or cherries!?!?!? or on other healthier alternatives to junk food!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

true!.!.better sell half prize an item than buy one get 1 free!.!.piles of food gets dumped causing enviromental problems and greenhouse problems!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

here here!! I really have to stop myself when I see those offers and move down into the fruit and vege aisle quickly!. its all about them making money!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Where are the BOGO diamond rings!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

because loads of people are losing weight or they have no moneyWww@FoodAQ@Com
