Commercial Dehydrators are are not inexpensive!. They are available on E-Bay and on Amazon!.com!. However, dehydrating without a dehydrator can be done with a sterile cardboard box a light bulb and piece of sterile nylon or stainless steel screening, four small clean empty cans -- all the same size -- to hold up the screening!. This is a great science fair project for the kids too!.
Cut a hole in the back of the box for the light cord to snake through!. Be sure that the light bulb itself will be clear of any contact with the box!. Use a low wattage bulb no more than 20 watts to produce just a low steady heat!.
Place the Nylon or stainless steel screening on the cans in the bottom of the box!.
Wash the Organic Celery well removing all sand and dirt and cut it into 1" pieces!. Use the leaves as well!.
Spread them out on the screening!. Turn on the light bulb!. Close the box!. Leave it alone for a day or two!. Check on it from time to time leaving it in place until it s thoroughly dehydrated!. Place the Dehydrated Celery in a food processor and pulse until you have the consistency you desire!.
Celery is fairly strong in flavor and when it is dehydrated that intensifies!. So you might want to add some dried organic parsley flakes, and chervil, or green onion to the mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
