Answers:
Well, back in the day, cheese used to have a thick layer of wax on it's exterior!. It was just how they always packed it!. And cheese back then was bought in large amounts, so even though it was starting to get older and smellier, no one could smell it because of the layer of wax!. Once someone cut through the layer to get to the cheese, it relesed a stinky odur simmilar to that of a fart!. So, when someone smelled something foul, they would often exclaim, "Who cut the cheese!?"
