What to use as a meat mallet?!

Question: What to use as a meat mallet!?
I need to pound out some chicken, but I don't have a meat mallet, what could I use from around the house to tenderize and flatten out the chicken!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
+1 to the various suggestions of plastic bags or clingfilm - I also use parchment paper successfully!. Just lay a sheet on a chopping board, lay out the chicken on top of that, lay another sheet on top, and use whatever you have to hand - I quite often use my Pyrex measuring jug because I find I can apply pressure more evenly than with a rolling pin, plus handle-y goodness! A wine bottle will also do, in a pinch!. ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could use anything that has a little weight to it and a flat spot!. You can even use a regular hammer if you want!. That would be my first choice!.

Just be sure to put the Chicken between two pieces of plastic wrap or in a large baggie and it should be no problem!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, like everyone said!. Something heavy!. I have used a large stainless steel cooking spoon!. BUT even if you do use parchment, still wrap the chicken in plastic wrap or a large Zip Loc bag so that the juices don't splatter anywhere and possible cause a health issue!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about the side of a hammer or other heavy tool you might have laying around or heavy rolling pin!.!.!.just make sure to put some plastic wrap over it first and your good to go!

If you don't have a mallett you can use a large can, just cover the meat with plastic wrap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
