I recently bought a 10 lb bag of baking potatoes for a bargain! It think it was like 2 bucks!!? You can stuff a potato with salsa and beans, chili, veggies and cheese, or salad dressing and make them taste great! I picked up chili at the dollar store 2 for $1, salsa same way, frozen veggies are cheap and have more nutrients than fresh, cheese is a little high right now, but if you can find kraft singles or similar you can add some calcium too!. Dried beans are about $1 or so at Walmart, soak them and cook as directed!. I've found that they keep for a week in the fridge!. If you don't have an oven, potatoes cook in the microwave in about 5 minutes (prick with a fork or knife to prevent explosion of potato!)!. Just check by squeezing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
dumpster dive your local food market!. they throw out bulk of vegetables and items when they are not even "past date"!. the food is perfectly good and there are many fresh vegetables which are very healthy and expensive!. unfortunately many of the larger supermarket chains compact their trash which makes food retrieval difficult and unsavory!. smaller markets are a better idea!.
it is exactly the same food you buy in the supermarket!. i know people tend to believe that things magically change properties (from "food" to "trash") when taken off a shelf and placed in a trash can or dumpster!.!.!.!. but it does not!.
you are saving good food from filling from landfills!.!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Checked the foods that have been reduced for quick sale at the supermarket!. Ususally, there are some in produce section or in the meat section!. Lunch meats are generally safe to eat within 7 days of the expiration date and are ususally more than 1/2 off if they're close to expiring!.

I haven't tried it, but a friend would from time to time order a pizza to go when it was close to closing time and then not pick it up and would watch the employees take the pizza to the dumpster when they left for the night and he'd go and get it out and eat it!. He never got sick!. He would also eat a buffet lunch (like at a chicken joint) and take in a backpack or jacket w/big pockets and have some baggies!. He'd eat his fill and then take chicken strips, rolls, crackers, butter, cookies home with him for another meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
