This question made me very curious, so I did a bit of research!. The answer (of course) is Yes, and No!.

First of all, asthma is a respiratory ailment, meaning that for an asthma attack to be provoked (and not related to physical exertion), 99 times out of 100, it will be something breathed in which irritates the lungs!. Unless your family likes drying spinach out, you shouldn't worry about it!.

The only information that suggested that Spinach could aggravate asthma had to do with people breathing in crushed, dried spinach dust - in a pasty factory, for instance!. If that were any other kind of dust, the effect might be similar, or even worse!.

A number of sites even say that spinach can help to alleviate frequency of asthma attacks, so unless it's dried and crushed up in VERY large quantities, keep eating it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have asthma and have never been told spinach is harmful!. In fact, that is one of my favorite foods!. The only things that I have ever been told have an effect on asthma is the temperature of the air and caffiene, and those only affect you while in an actual attack!. I do not believe that spinach rumor is true, but always be safe and check with your doctor if you believe it might be harmful to you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't imagine spinach doing you any harm but watch out for dairy products if you have asthma or allergies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you will become dependent on it like MarijuanaWww@FoodAQ@Com

Spinach can only be benificial to you!.It will not cause sickness!.Just take a look how healthy Pop eye was!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

only if you choke on itWww@FoodAQ@Com
