Soya milk. Rice milk. Oats Milk. Are these better for you than cows milk?!
Are these new "manufactured" substitute milk products better for you than cow's milk!?
I am wondereing whether you save on calories by having them but add more unnatural ingredients into your diet - like gum - and stabilisers etc!.
I've never seem them recommended in a from a nutritionist - - but then I don't really read many nutrition books
Any advice pleaseWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
soya and other substitute products evolved as an option for the those intolerant to milk, not those who were dieting, and cows milk shouldn't really be substituted for soya milk, especially young children!. you can't beat the complete proteins that milk offers, plus all the good calcium and natural vitamin A & D!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, lower is fat and calories as well as saturated fat and it is cholesterol free!. Has the same nutrients, too!.
Cows milk is for baby cows to make them fat, and when humans drink it, it leaches calcium from bones (which can cause osteoporosis) because of the animal protein content!.
Ginsters: The vitamin d is not natural, it is fortified with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes especially if you have IBS or are lactose intolerant!. I have soya milk for this reason and think it tastes better on cereals and you can`t tell the difference in cooking!. It`s lower in fat and cholesterol and keeps for about a week in the fridge!. It contains Vitamins D, E, Riboflavin B2, B12 and calcium and makes great tasting yogurts!. I also have rice milk but only as a drink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you like milk and can handle it, then stick to it!. There are people who are allergic, or are lactose intolerant, or part of a vegan lifestyle and they drink these milks for the nutrition!.
I love milk and use it exclusively!. The only time i will use soy or rice milk is when i want to bake something non-dairy that calls for milk!.

Soya, oat and rice milk are a healthier option than cow's milk!. but if you like cow's milk try getting the skimmed one (green cap), it has lower fat than the blue one!.
