every country has its own version of the pancake!.!. they may vary in thickness and taste!.!. some are thinner and larger others the batter may be more runny!.!.!. in France we have crêpes, and Italian have the crespelle,!. India have dosa and chila!.!. Mexican hotcakes are made from cornmeal!.!.the English version of the pancake is more thinner and different texture!.!. some English also bake the pancake instead of pan frying them!.!. so you may have guessed i dont believe there is any "original" pancake!. every country has its version of traditional pancake!.!. sorry but this is the truthWww@FoodAQ@Com

but many countries have their own variations on the pancake so it's hard to say which was first!. however, america is definitly NOT the answer since pancake recipes can be found in cookbooks dating back to the 1400s (long before even columbus set foot on hispaniola)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

pancakes from the US, I think, but similar ones
are made in india too, they are thin and crispy made with a mixture of rice and bengal gram ground to paste!. It is called dosa!. With different chutneys they are yummy!.
