Clearly the best way to make a cup of tea is to put the tea bag in the mug, pour freshly boiled water over it, leave for a bit, take the tea bag out then add a splash of milk!. I've had debates with some strange friends who say that the best way to make tea is to put milk in the mug, then add boiled water to the milk, and then dunk the tea bag in for a while, but in my opinion thus is wrong, and a truly insane method!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well tea - I only drink herbal ones, so its just a case of leaving the bag in the cup with freshly boiled water for 5 minutes and then yanking it out!. Add a dash of cold, if you want to start drinking it within 2 minutes!.
Coffee - I'm trying to get off the real stuff and just drinking instant!. I think the key is to get decent fair trade stuff - I'm currently a big fan of Percol's Rainforest instant!. You need a good couple of tea spoons - water thats boiled but been allowed to stand a minute and then add a good dash of semi-skimmed milk!. Best way to start the day!Www@FoodAQ@Com

tea- always use freshly drawn water, and tip onto bag/ into teapot the nano second it boils!. I heard from a former British gas boiler repair man ( who makes the best cup of tea, says he got used to making a cuppa, whilst on the job!!! LOL) the best taste comes from a tea bag, when you allow it to sink to the bottom (as opposed to squidging and squeezing with the spoon) when making a pot of tea, try adding an earl grey teabag with your normal brew, it makes a refreshing cuppa (to which you can still add milk)
coffee- fresh water again, but never place boiling water on instant coffee granules, it burns the coffee and gives it a bitter taste, i always add the milk/cream before the water!
hope that helps xxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Somehow hot water for tea makes a better cuppa when heated by live fire !.!. A kettle on an old cast iron stove, hung over a wood fire, or left on top of a wood furnace!.
What leaves you use for your tea, is a matter of taste which, as you know, is far too individual to compare :)
For coffee - grind the beans, and leave the grinds to "breathe", don't make the coffee till the next day!.
Heat water to 94°C (200°F), and leave the coffeegrinds in the water for 5 minutes!.
Strain, and let the brew run through the coffeegrinds a second time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't drink coffee but the best way to make tea is to fill a glass jar with filtered water and appropriate amount of tea bags and cover!. Then set it in the sun to brew!. Don't know why but it makes all the difference!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
From what I have experience the best way to make tea is use a tea infuser with fresh loose tea, allowing it to steep for three mins no more then five mins!. And for coffee I always use freshly ground coffee with a pinch of saltWww@FoodAQ@Com
I like adding a bit of homegrown fresh mint from my herb garden, makes even store bought bagged teas awesome!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
