Iodized salt or not?!

Question: Iodized salt or not!?
i have mortons salt and beneath the letts it says :doesnot contain idodide , a necessary nutrient" is this un-iodized salt or not!? thanks in advanceWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No it does NOT contain iodine!. Iodine is necessary in ones diet to make the thyroid gland function properly!.

you can get the iodized kind at the store ~ salt is very very cheap ~ usually 50 cents a box

It won't hurt you to finish this box first ~ but from now on buy the iodized kind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Iodized salt is important for you to have as part of your diet!.

The only reason you would want to buy the non iodized salt is for bread baking (it inhibits the ability of yeast to rise properly) or if you have certain health issues like kidney issues, bone density issues, or even some high blood pressure meds don't recommend using anything with iodine as salt is a mineral and not compatible with all things!. So, generally speaking, if you are healthy and don't abuse salt, it is preferred that you use iodized salt versus non iodized!.

Hope this helped!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The one you have is Not Iodized(plain) salt, the packaging makes it easy to pick up the wrong one, It won't hurt to use that one until it's finished and then get a box of Iodized!.

FYI: Remember Iodized is written in yellow letters on the box =)

Edit: Why the hell do I have a thumbs down when my answer is correct!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think so,,,,you should have iodized salt though!. i have goiters on my neck and I have been told to eat more iodized salt to help bring them down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
