Answers:
Treacle pudding (not quite sure what you mean by that - are you in the UK!.!.!.!?) isn't made with treacle at all (aka molasses) but with golden syrup so, no, it doesn't taste anything like treacle!. At least I'm thinking you're meaning 'treacle *sponge* pudding - the only other dessert I can think that's predominantly 'treacle' is treacle tart but that, again, is made with golden syrup (my late paternal grandmother used to make the best treacle tart known to humankind; she also used to make the best vanilla ice-cream to go with it, too!.!.!.Not something to be eaten if you're watching your waistline; the whole pud was probably more than a couple of days' calorie allowance! I'm craving it now!. She was the best amateur chef I've ever come across - I'm not biased, everyone who was fortunate enough to taste her cooking said so!. Sorry, having a nostalgia moment there, forgive me!.!.!.)
But, no, if you're meaning treacle sponge - or treacle tart - then it certainly doesn't taste of treacle! :o)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Treacle tart is made by filling a sweet shortcrust pastry case with a mixture made from white breadcrumbs or cake crumbs mixed with golden syrup and a little lemon juice to help cut through the sweetness!. This is then baked until the filling is set!. It is wonderful and sweet but not too sickly!. It doesn't actually contain treacle, its just treacle once was the name given to the substance we now know as golden syrup!. Lovely with custard or ice cream!.

Treacle pudding is usually a suet based sponge steamed in a pudding basin with a pool of golden syrup in the bottom!. When it is turned out upsidedown on a plate the syrup then pours down the sides!. also lovely served with custard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Great! especially with a dollop of cream on the side, or ice cream, or custard, lol!. Still, I have to warn you, it's very sweet to the point of sickly, but if you like sweet things, that's your pudding!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Treacle is the English term for molasses!. So I'm guessing it'll be a dark, heavy tasting pudding much like molasses!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
