Are Soft Veggies Nutritious?!
I know that all vegetables are healthy and have a lot of nutrition!.
Do they have a less amount of nutrition after being boiled to the point where they get soft!?
Such as cauliflower, carrots, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boiling the vegetables can leach out some of the water soluble vitamins!. They just soak into the water!. To what extent this happens depends on how long you cook them for!.
You know how when you cook carrots for ages and the water goes orange!? That is beta carotene, leaching into the water!.
If you only cook them for a short time, you lose less nutrients!. Steaming wont lost as much vitamins!.
They will be less nutritious, but really, if you eat lots of veg every day, and you eat a variety it doesn't make a difference to your health overall!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

different ways of preparing, storing and processing vegetables can affect how good they are for you!.
Broccoli, for instance, can lose as much as 97 percent of some antioxidants, or cancer-fighting compounds, when it is zapped in the microwave!.
Vegetables that are blanched before freezing (a common processing technique) can lose up to one third of their antioxidants!. Frozen storage can also cause losses, albeit much smaller ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

THE MORE A VEGETABLE IS COOKED THE LESS NUTRITIOUS IT BECOMES!.
also IF YOU SKIN VEGETABLES YOU REMOVE MORE OF THE NUTRITION
I WASH, TOP AND TAIL THEN SLICE CARROTS IF THE SKINS LOOK HORRIBLE THEN I PEEL THEM FIRST
I PEEL,TOP AND TAIL SWEDE OR PARSNIPS
I WASH POTATOES THEN CHOP INTO PIECES AND COOK SKINS AND ALL
BUT AGAIN I LOOK AT THE SKINS FIRST IF THEY LOOK HORRIBLE I PEEL
IF I AM MAKING MASH,CHIPS OR ROAST POTATOES THEN YOU HAVE TO SKIN FIRST
IF YOU HAVE A STEAMER THIS WOULD BE A BETTER WAY TO COOK VEGGIES
I PREFER TO COOK UNTILL GOING SOFT
OTHERS WILL TELL YOU TO COOK AL DENTE WHICH MEANS TO THE TOOTH OR IN ENGLISH YOU HAVE A SLIGHT CRUNCH LEFT TO THE VEGGIES
IF YOU ARE TALKING OF FEEDING CHILDREN REMEMBER THEY ARE BETTER HAVING SOME VEG THAN NONE AT ALL
IF THEY REFUSE DONT MAKE A SCENE
WAIT UNTILL NEXT TIME AND MASH ONE VEGETABLE AND MIX WITH MASHED POTATO (NOT TO MUCH OF THE VEG)Www@FoodAQ@Com

when veggies are crisp, they are full of good stuff!. Once you steam, or boil, or whatever cooking method you use, too much is no good!. To answer your question, yes!. Soft veggies are almost out of all the good stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
