If it was a sandwich, then it could be the bread (I'm gluten-intolerant - anything with wheat in bloats me something chronic)!.
There are several herbs that will help - the most obvious one being peppermint (try drinking a mug of peppermint tea - it's always worked for me!. Just a side 'did you know!.!.!.!?' that it was the Romans who invented the 'after-dinner mint'!.!.!.!? They always used to chew peppemint leaves after one of their many huge banquets because of its action to aid digestion and the passage of food through the intestines!.)
Ginger is also an excellent 'de-bloater' and, again, it's available as a tea!.
Lemon balm is also excellent, but I've never seen lemon balm tea (at least not in the Holland & Barratts round here) but the leaves are very pleasant to chew and I think it's available in lozenge form!.
Finally, there's sage, but I'm not sure what forms it's available in - I don't think I've ever seen sage tea, for example!.
Hope that helps a bit!.
By the way - is this the first time you've had a reaction to either dairy or wheat!? Try eating cheese sans bread and see what happens, and then bread sans cheese, to ascertain which it might be!. If it is the first time, then I'd (probably) ignore it (but not if it occurs again!.!.!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com
