Bloodless fish?!


Question: Bloodless fish!?
I heard a referance to bloodless fish, on TV, that the greeks being good catrholics, don't eat meat on Friday!. They said this is the answer to a plain dinner!? Has any one heard of this, or I'm the only one!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bloodless fish refers to shellfish, octopus, squid and the like!.

Instead of iron based hemoglobin, their blood uses a copper compound to carry oxygen; therefore it is not red like we think of blood!. Therefore the ancients tho't that they had no blood!
