Freakin metabolism!?!

Question: Freakin metabolism!!?
all throughout adolescence i had a WICKED fast metabolism!. i would literally eat crap morning, noon, and night--i'm talking burger king, cake, twinkees, chips, soda, french fries, candy, cookies!.!.!.etc!. i was about 5' 4" and 98 lb!. Now, i'm 5' 6" and 105 lb, but i look like i weigh more than that!. You may be thinking that I'm super skinny, but i have a very small frame, and i think gaining those extra pounds now shows!. did eating all that junk food throughout my adolescence hurt me and slow down my metabolism so that as an adult (i'm now 20) my metabolism sucks!? can that happen--can you eat enough junkfood that it slows down your metabolism!? or did it just change with age!? thanks =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Irregular eating patterns that you develop when you get older are just as harmful to your metabolism as certain chemicals in the foods that you may be consuming!. Try to eat at the same times everyday, and when you eat, try to eat more frequent meals and less food in each meal!. You may end up eating more, but your body will be thankful!.

Aspartame, and alot of those "polymer"-foods that are in some fast foods (manufactured cheeses, etc) slow down your metabolism because your body doesn't know how to metabolize them!. Sugar, instead of being used as readily as you did as a child, becomes stored as fat as well as you probably are in need of more fibre!. Your body will naturally want to put on a few pounds as you enter adulthood, but it would be benificial to you to begin just being a little more careful as to when and what you eat!. Talk to a doctor if you are concerned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well im not sure if your metabolism changes from eating junk food, but if thats seriously all you ate then no wonder you gained weight!. You should really try eating heathy fruits and veggies, and meat with lots of protien so you can gain weight by having muscles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
