Do you eat shrimp shells?!


Question: Do you eat shrimp shells!?
So we we ate at Red Lobster!. One of the guests asked if it would be ok for us to give him the shells after we peeled the shrimp---he likes to eat them!.
Do you eat them too---I didn't know they are ok to eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe he meant that he saves them to make seafood stock and eats the resulting chowder!? I always save all shrimp, crab, and lobster shells to boil!. (But I'll admit, asking a stranger for their shells is a bit strange!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com
